One Day Educational Visit To BSE, Mumbai - 13th September 2022

Objectives of the Visit:
- To enable the students to see first-hand the working of the stock market and to enable them to relate to the real scenario
- To enable the students to relate the theoretical knowledge they acquire in class with practical knowledge gained after personal observation of the working of the BSE
- To ignite a curiosity in the minds of the students about functioning of the stock market and how it can be a source of future profession and income.
Brief Summary: As part of experiential learning for students, the BFM Department organized a field visit to the Bombay Stock Exchange on the 13th of Sep 2022. The visit had been planned in collaboration with BAF & BBI Departments.
The students were taken in batches of 25 to the BSE building and visited the Bombay Stock Exchange Brokers Forum office where they were given a brief audio-visual presentation about the working of the stock market after which they were shown live trading terminals.
The students were amazed to see the live trading session and gained a lot of knowledge about the capital and secondary markets and its functioning.
A total of 26 students attended the seminar from BFM Department of which 6 were females and 20 were males.
Outcome of the Visit:
- The students were amazed to see the technicalities behind the functioning of the stock exchange and were inspired to understand the same in more depth in
- Many of the students who already had prior inclination towards making stock market trading as a career got their inclinations reinforced and focused
The visit opened a different real world for the students who otherwise had only seen and heard about the stock market functioning in various media.
