Waste generated from the canteen and garden is converted into manure using decompose process where we take the help of both hand tumblers and ground pit. The compost pit was installed in the college premises for composting the canteen (wet) waste in collaboration with Stree Mukti Sangathana an NGO.
60 kg of fine quality compost (manure) was obtained in the first cycle. The manure was sold out to the Teachers and Non-Teaching staff, the money generated from the sale was used to celebrate Diwali with the inmates of St. George Infirmary. Also, the remaining manure is used in the college garden.
The high quality compost is sold at cheaper rates to College students and Staff.
