Entrepreneurship Mela 2023 - 04/02/2023

4th February 2023 saw the campus of Lala Lajpatrai College of Commerce & Economics shuddered with sound, music fanfare & enthusiasm with its 11th edition of hallmark event Entrepreneurship Mela 2023#igniting the entrepreneurial culture in its jubilee year displaying stalls of diverse delicacies and non- food products under the theme ' Igniting the entrepreneurial culture in its Jubilee Year organized by Department of Add-on-Vocational Courses in collaboration with University of Mumbai jointly with Rotaract Club & Entrepreneurship Development Cell. Various stalls were put up by the budding entrepreneurs, NGOs, startups & student participants from diverse colleges. The stalls exhibit comprised of Tatoo Art, Kolhapuri Chappals, handmade gift items, appetizers, apparels, bags, indoor plants, bamboo products etc.

A footfall of 2400 plus visitors was witnessed with 36 stalls displaying their exhibits igniting the E- Mela in its true sense n valour trying to make a sale for their products. Colleges like K G Joshi Bedekar College of Arts, NM College, Sophia College participated & minted enormous profits.

Mrs. Anjali Kulthe (Nursing Officer at Cama Albless Govt Hospital) inaugurated & set the Mela open. Marking Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav it was an honour & privilege to host & narrate about an unsung hero & a brave heart having high commitment for her uniform & profession guarding the prenatal women - a victim & a survivor in the 26/11 attack. A true iron lady leading the imprints & legacy of the Great Mother Teresa.

With an initiation towards Aatma Nirbhar Bharat various NGOs namely Fellowship for the Physically Handicapped, Women India Trust, Nuzhuts Innovation & Seva Vivek Foundation hosted by our NSS Unit displayed their product ideations through their active involvement ensuring a genre of social inclusion in educational institutions. The NSS Unit exhibited the compost (manure) produced through our compost pit located in the college campus marking a true sense of entrepreneurial spirit. E- Mela has always embarked on the ideology of Aatma Nirbhar Bharat focusing on Innovations & Skill Development amongst on campus startups & budding entrepreneurs advocated through our logo release of SRIIJEN (Skill Development, Research, Innovation & Incubation of Entrepreneurship) unveiled by our guest of honour Mrs. Anjali Kulthe, Pri. Dr. Arora & Dr. Divya Nigam (Asst Prof) & Dr. Rahul Shetty (Convener – Entrepreneurship Development Cell).

The event was a phenomenal success which broadcasted the zeal of enthusiasm amongst budding entrepreneurs instilling a strong sense of entrepreneurial culture converting their passion into profession.

 Objectives of the Program:

  1. To promote business management exercise among the student community.
  2. To enable the budding entrepreneurs, startups & NGOs to sell, market & price the products fostering entrepreneurial skills. 

Learning Outcomes:

  1. Self-employment among students initiating the flagship of Aatma NirbharBharat.
  2. Exposure to organising, management & entrepreneurial skills among students.
