Sankalp 2k20 - 11th & 12th February 2020



The N.S.S. Unit organized an inter-collegiate social fest "Sankalp 2020" on 11th and 12th February 2020 based on the theme "सकस आहाराकडे वाटचाल". Sankalp 2020 aimed to spread the message and awareness about "Hunger And Malnutrition in India and even in the world"

"सकस आहाराकडे वाटचाल" aimed to create awareness among the youth about the social issues and challenges faced by the people in the world due to hunger and also to explore possible solutions to the problems. Hunger and undernourishment lead to severe problems. Children and youth in this state suffer from numerous nutritional deficiencies which adversely impact their overall. Lack of potable water, poor sanitation, and dangerous hygiene practices increase vulnerability to infectious and water-borne diseases, which are direct causes of acute malnutrition. Hunger and undernourishment lead to severe problems. Children and youth in this state suffer from numerous nutritional deficiencies which adversely impact their overall health. Malnutrition in children under-five also results in nearly half of the 1.3 million deaths occurring in the country each year.

Sankalp 2020 was not a prototype intercollegiate event having various competitions. Rather, it was an inter-collegiate socio-cultural fest organized to engage the youth in a dialogue on the "Social-Illusion" of the people through various informative sessions followed by theme-based Creative Performances.


DAY-1: 11/02/2020 (Tuesday)

It was organized for the N.S.S volunteers of various colleges as it was an inter-collegiate competition. There were various competitions organized at the intercollegiate level. The students from various colleges enthusiastically participated in the competition. The events were as follows which were based on the theme:

  • Rangoli Competition
  • Short Film Competition
  • Poetry Competition
  • Street Play Competition
  • Quiz Competition
  • Poster Making Competition


DAY-2: 12/02/2020 (Wednesday)

It was organized in the college auditorium. N.S.S. Volunteers of various colleges also attended the event.

The Chief Guest for the event was Mr. Subhash Talekar (President of the Mumbai Dabbawala Association). The Guest of Honor was Dr. Shubalaxmi Iyyer (COO, Aroehan). Dr. Satish Kolte (District Co-ordinator N.S.S. Unit Cell) also graced the occasion. Mr. Neil Banerjee was the Speaker for the day.

The event started with the inauguration session followed by a short video on the Mumbai Dabbawala Association and Roti Bank Foundation by Mr. Subhash Talekar and a short video clip of Mr. Satish Kolte was shown.

A dance performance was set up by our N.S.S. Volunteers to spread the message of Hunger and Malnutrition. There were many creative performances which were performed by the volunteers of various colleges including our college. The performances included Dancing, Street Play, and Poetry.

Certificates were given to the volunteers who attended the event and also performed in the event by the N.S.S. Programme Officers Ms. Kranti  Ukey and Mr. Ashok Mahadik.

Vote of thanks ceremony was held for our College Principal, children, students, participants, teachers, volunteers, and non-staff members. During events, we also arranged breakfast, and lunch for all the Participants, Teachers, and Volunteers. Our moto was achieved and successfully brought a smile to their faces.
