Objective:

Tsunami 2025, the annual intercollegiate festival hosted by the BMS Department of Lala Lajpatrai College, aimed to bring together students from various colleges to celebrate creativity, competition, and collaboration. With a focus on diverse events spanning cultural, sports, business, and entertainment domains, the fest sought to provide a platform for students to showcase their talents, engage in healthy competition, and foster camaraderie.

Brief Report of the Event:

Tsunami 2025 was held over four action-packed days—January 3rd, 4th, 6th, and 7th—at Lala Lajpatrai College and various partner venues. The festival witnessed an overwhelming footfall of over 15,000 attendees and featured a mix of thrilling competitions, celebrity appearances, and entertainment showcases.

 

Day 1: The Pilot Takes Off

The fest commenced with a high-energy PR rally, setting the tone for an exhilarating event. The day’s highlights included:

  • Glamour Gala (Cosplay Competition): Participants brought fictional characters to life with stunning costumes. (Judged by Harshita Agarwal)
  • & Ms. Tsunami: A personality-based competition that crowned the best talents of the fest. (Judged by Rahul Sharma & Aashika Sadh)
  • 8 Mile (Rap Battle): A lyrical showdown featuring intense rap battles. (Judged by Salt & Ace aka Mumbai)
  • Pro-Nite: A high-energy DJ night featuring the Daaku Duo at Cosy Box, Lower Parel, ensuring a grand end to Day 1.

 

Day 2: Binge Begins

Day 2 revolved around sports and strategic competitions:

  • Outdoor sports: Included The 30’s (Cricket), Supa Strikas (Football), and Dum Lagake Haisha (Tug of War).
  • Indoor competitions: Featured games like House of Aces (Teen Patti), Retro Rewind, and Are You a Lawyer?(Judged by Prof. Mona Thakker Pandya)

 

Day 3: The Plot Twist

This day focused on drama, debate, and artistic performances:

  • Are You a Liar Lawyer? (Part 2): A courtroom-based debate.
  • Youth Parliament: A powerful platform for students to voice their opinions on social and political issues. (Judged by Heena Gazali)
  • Desi Meets Diva (Group Drama): Theatrical performances blending emotions and storytelling. (Judged by Hanish Lamba & Mandar Chaugle)
  • JAM (Just-A-Minute): Quick-thinking and witty speaking competition. (Judged by Sahil Dani)
  • Yaadon Ka Safar (Solo Dance): A mesmerizing display of solo dance talent. (Judged by Mayuri Sathe & Gurpreet Singh)
  • Tsunamiland (War of DJs): A high-energy DJ battle featuring Luna, Mahek Jafri, Vikrant Kandhari & Roshan Gurbaxani.
  • Celebrity Appearance: Actors Surbhi Chandna & Karan Sharma attended the event to promote their song Jaan-E-Jaan.

Day 4: The Season Finale

The concluding day featured grand finales across various competitions:

  • Dumpster Battle (Volleyball): A thrilling sports face-off.
  • The Secret Library of Tales (Group Dance): A synchronized and storytelling-based dance competition. (Judged by Elisha Mayor & Raj Khan)
  • The Notebook of Lost Words (Poetry): A literary event for poetry lovers. (Judged by Chelsi Vanigota)
  • Poster Paradox (Painting): A creativity-driven poster-making competition. (Judged by Pranriyad Padayachi)
  • Breaking Bid (Shark Tank): A business pitch competition where participants presented entrepreneurial ideas. (Judged by Sandeep Ghag)
  • Runway of Reveries (Fashion Show): A glamorous fashion event showcasing unique styles. (Judged by Kimmi Upal, Delzad Aga & Rahul Sharma)
  • Stranger Strings (Band Performance): A live music battle featuring talented bands. (Judged by Yash Purohit, Asheer Mohammed & Swapnil Bhanushali)

The grand Closing Ceremony celebrated the top-performing colleges:

  • Thakur College – 1st Place
  • HR College – 2nd Place
  • KC College – 3rd Place

Outcome:

Tsunami 2025 was a resounding success, exceeding all expectations and solidifying its reputation as Mumbai’s premier intercollegiate fest. The event achieved:

  • A massive footfall of 15,000+ attendees, creating an unparalleled buzz.
  • Successful brand collaborations with AK Digitals (Title Sponsor), LIC (Associate Sponsor), 3 Strategic Sponsors, and 35 Partners.
  • Seamless execution by a dedicated team of 114 organizers, including a 7-member core team led by Presidents Umang Kapoor & Jaspreet Singh, Core Advisor Manish Prajapati, and Operations In-Charge Sakina Unwala.
